How do you feel?

What a great question this is.

How often do you stop during your day, get quiet connect inwardly and ask the question ‘How am I feeling right  now?’. This can be a real wake-up call as we become aware of what we are feeling and begin to open ourselves up to the possibility of hearing what our bodies are trying to tell us. It can be painful sometimes to become aware of just how stressed and tight we may be in our breathing or our chests, or how much accumulated backlog of stuff there is to be processed,  and this can be our sign that we have some listening to do.  This listening will begin the process of internal connection that many people ignore or even avoid but which is so vital to whole good health and harmony.

Even just for half a minute or a minute when you have a private moment, this exercise will start to interrupt the never ending cycle of adrenal stress. Stress can be addictive as it pulls us through life at speed all the while distracting us from anything else than what’s in front of us. After a while though the price we pay is in adrenal stress and feeling ‘tired but wired’.

Reiki can be a tool along on your journey as it offers the time,  space and support for this internal connection or listening process to begin,  develop and deepen.

Mid-Life Healing

Are you feeling worn out and exhausted, trying to cope with life’s demands while also dealing with perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause hormonal issues?

Did you know the perimenopause (period before the cessation of periods) can last for as long as 10 years or more  and cause upheaval in a woman’s life as the various hormones begin to become more erratic. These changes can cause a huge impact on women as the body begins to change. None of this should be viewed as a disease. It is a natural progression that if managed correctly need not be a negative experience. Oestrogen falls but not many women are aware that it only falls to about 40% of its pre-menopausal level after the menopause, but in fact progesterone falls to almost nothing. Testosterone levels also decline.

Many women discover that when the hormones start to decline, energy can decline and some conditions can start to appear for the first time such as musculo-skeletal problems caused by pushing the body beyond its limits for years. This is our opportunity as women to start to listen to what the body tells us and pay attention so that we can still make the changes in our lifestyles that can mean we avoid worsening ill health as we go into the second half of our life.  An important part of these changes is asking ‘How do I feel?’ and contacting our inner self, making space and time in our day to make contact with ourselves and intend and offer kindness and gentle nurturance to our bodies and minds (for our minds are housed in our bodies after all).  When we do this we may start to feel aches and pains seem to start to resolve and we are on the way to truly healing from the deepest part of ourselves and therefore can experience true healing. There is no reason why we can’t enjoy vitality and pain free living for the next stage of our lives.

3 Layers of Healing

Here’s a thought for the weekend:

We need to address all 3 layers of our being in order to achieve true and lasting healing.

These are:

  1. Physical level – this is the level where we deal with changes in diet, exercise, rest and sleep or occupation etc.
  2. Mind level – involves mental acceptance in terms of changing our thoughts about ourself, being kind to self and believing anything is possible.
  3. Spirit level – this is where we do the work of finding out who we really are and realise we have to be true to our real selves to achieve sustained healing, rather than temporary respite . This level encompasses our emotional body.  This level can only be accessed if we give time and space to contact this level of our being.

Reiki addresses all 3 levels of our being, therefore promoting lasting healing.
